Historical Addition/restoration

 This is a large addition Condon and Fox built in 2002.  It is a living area and garage that attaches to a two story colonial with a hip roof.  It was very important to the customer that all the design/woodwork be an extension of the original work in the house.

Fireplace Remodel and Built-in

 Originally, there was a brick fireplace here with a gas stove insert and a brick veneer that went all the way up the wall.  The customer was looking for a more modern look so we took down the veneer, patched the drywall, applied marble tile to the fireplace, and added a contemporary mantel.

We built the mantel over a plywood box that we framed around the existing fireplace.  Several layers of poplar give the mantel straight, clean lines.

Lastly, we added a built-in cabinet, which we built in our shop.  The cabinet has an 18" base cabinet with doors, and the upper section is an open shelf area.  Both the cabinet and mantel will be painted.

Amherst Village Stair Case

 We built this stair case for a customer in Amherst Village.  It is comprised of two flights from the basement to the second floor.  The treads are Brazilian Cheery, and the hand rail & newel posts are South American Mahogany.  We applied our own stain and finish to the rail and newels.  The wainscot is a continuation of the paneling we did in the living room (see Amherst Village Fireplace and Paneling)

Fir Ceiling

 Another part of our work on the Amherst Village house.  This is a fir bead board ceiling we did in the sun room area.  We also trimmed out the ridge beam and hip rafters in fir.

Kitchen in Amherst Village

 This is a kitchen installation we did last summer.  The cabinets were made by Crown Point Cabinetry in Claremont, NH.

Amherst Village Fireplace and Paneling

 We did the finish work in this house in Amherst Village.  We designed the paneling on the fireplace and wainscot to match the kitchen cabinets.  It is a flat panel, with a square-edge stile & rail and a 3/8" quarter-round thumbnail molding.  The wainscot lines the living room and both flights of stairs (see Amherst Village Stair Case).

Whipple Free Library Story Time Nook

We designed this children's reading area, for the Whipple Free Library in New Boston, to the donors specifications, and built it in our shop.

The bends were made with 1/4" maple strip laminations, and we used a radius jig to rout the nosing.  The plywood frame is stuffed with insulation to deaden any noise, and we used bound carpet cut-outs to finish the platforms.

Hutch

Tom made this hutch in the winter of 2010.  He constructed it using aged, old growth pine boards that he accumulated over the years, and he built the whole thing using only hand tools.  Everything was cut, ripped, resawn, and joined with hand saws, hand planes, and chisels.

In-law Addition

 This was an in-law type addition we did  on a cape-style home.  It was a tight lot, and the design was difficult to fit in with all the set back limits. Some of the square footage actually expanded into the existing garage, linking to a breeze-way for common use by the two sections of the house.  We used in-slab radiant heat, and engineered trusses to create a large, open interior.

Bedroom Addition

 This is an addition we did on a cape-style home for a new master bedroom suite. The whole addition was handicap accessible complete with a curb-less shower.  Red cedar shakes were used to match the existing siding.
